Yelp me! I want to party!

Hey pals! How are you enjoying this fine fall weather? Well don’t blink, you know how long a midwestern fall lasts… wait. Is that snow i see? Okay maybe not yet.

We’re gearing up for an awesome event hosted by the fine folks at Yelp. The event is called, Cirque du Yelp, a carnival themed one-night event at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, KY on October 1st from 8 to 10pm. You can RSVP by going to this WEBSITE. If you don’t already have a Yelp account you should sign up so you can get all kinds of fun information about your favorite local businesses and events. You can also review businesses and read other’s reviews, it’s a great tool for when you’re feeling adventurous and want to try a new restaurant.

The Pro*Zen girls will be handing out some tasty snack at Cirque du Yelp along with tons of other great local food and beverage vendors. You don’t want to miss this one, and it’s free!!

Something cold, something new…

…something really tasty too! We’re heading out to another awesome Yelp! event tomorrow, and you know what we made? They’re almost too good to be true. Almost. But here they are…

They're chilly. They're vegan. They're free tomorrow night.

 Grateful Grahams made some mini grahams for these tasty little Phro*Zen sandwiches we’ll be slinging for free tomorrow evening. We hope to see you at the Yelp! event – we promise to try to save you one of these tasty little ‘wiches, but get there early because we can’t guarantee they’ll last long!

A quick look back…and forward…?

Waaaay back last summer, when Phro*Zen was mostly an idea and not so much a reality, we started our little “scoop events.” We would bring a cooler of our ice cream, some hand-crafted business cards, a couple scoops, and a whole lot of hope that not everyone would think we were crazy, to the sidewalk in front of Park+Vine. Ellen, myself, Derek, and a few other helpers along the way would sit out front scooping up samples for anyone that would take them just to get the word out about Phro*Zen – and that along with some seriously great press and outside help has done the trick!

Our little sample events have gotten bigger (which we love!), meaning we get to give out more ice cream, and talk to more people about what we do, why we love it, and how we can make it better. Most recently, we sponsored a Yelp! event. Yep. A Yelp! event. I couldn’t believe it either, but here’s some proof.

Alex Shebar, the fearless leader of all things Yelp! here in Cincinnati, puts on quite the party and we were excited just to be there, let alone be a sponsor. We met so many great people while we were there! We ran into a few Phro*Zen faithfuls (good to see you Zack and Jessica!) as well as a few new and friendly faces. Overall I think it served as a great reminder of why we do what we do. We love to talk with people, learn more about the community we’re lucky to be in, and what we can do to make it a better place (one scoop at a time, eh?).
